Our story

From back home, to your pantry.

Our family came from Lebanon and Syria and brought the flavors with them. Our dad spent over 20 years building a Lebanese spice importing business from the ground up — supplying markets across California since 2003. These ingredients were always in our kitchen. They were just hard to find everywhere else.

In 2023, we traveled back to Lebanon with our mom and sister. In Bourj Hammoud, our uncle made us shawarma the way it's supposed to taste — nothing like what you find in the US. We came home and couldn't stop thinking about it. Alongside that trip, we rediscovered flavors we'd grown up with — the zaatar, the sumac, the seven spices — and how impossible it was to find them in the right quality and quantity from back home.

We spent months recreating his recipe. That blend became the foundation of Waha.

We started this because the diaspora shouldn't have to drive to one specialty store, order a tiny overpriced jar, or wait for a relative to bring something back from back home. Lebanon-sourced spices, homemade blends, and real quantities — shipped straight to your door.

That's Waha. The pantry staples you grew up with, finally online.
